About Hesket Estate
Macedon Ranges, Victoria
Right on the doorstep of Melbourne lies the tiny cool climate region of Macedon Ranges. The handful of wineries located there may all be characterised as boutique, creating very limited quantities of exceptional wines. The vineyard at Hesket Estate was first established in the 1980’s with further expansion and refinement occurring in the 1990’s when the Hudspeth Stevenson family purchased the property. The vineyard is at an elevation of 660 metres above sea level and with its cool climate specialises in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
In addition to their estate grown wines a Gewurztraminer is produced from the nearby Straws Lane Vineyard, and an elegant Heathcote Shiraz is also available. The Hudspeth Stevenson family utilises modern viticulture techniques using the grey and red loam soils of the beautiful Hesket Kerrie Valley. Such techniques yield grapes of exceptional quality and character, which are then treated with absolute care and attention, with all fruit hand-picked.
