About Bodegas Manzanos
Wine has united, unites and will continue to unite people, friends and families. Manzanos is a family legacy dating back to 1890, which has grown and matured over time with a resounding symphony of tradition and modernity.
Now in the hands of the fifth generation, Victor and David Fernández de Manzanos, along with ‘brother from another mother’ winemaker Borja Ripa, drive the business with a flair and entrepreneurial spirit far beyond their years. The winery itself sits on the banks of the River Ebro, alongside 250 ha of vineyards that spreads across both Rioja and Navarra designated regions. The wines are fruit-forward yet elegant – the embodiment of ‘modern’ Rioja.
While location dictates that the heart of Manzanos should be Tempranillo, its soul is defiantly Graciano. It is with this varietal that we see the winemaker’s most delicate touch, and where the sense of place is actually most clearly defined. We look forward to bringing more examples of this underrated varietal into Australia as demand grows.
The M & Z range is taken from their Navarra DO designated vineyards while Mas de Manzanos wines are Rioja DOCa.
