About Patrick of Coonawarra
Patrick of Coonawarra was established by celebrated winemaker Patrick Tocaciu in 2004. During a decorated career spanning more than three decades, Pat had worked as chief winemaker for several major labels but in 1998 the focus then switched to fulfilling a more personal goal with the establishment of his first vineyard “Homeblock”. The first wines under the Patrick of Coonawarra label were released in 2004, and these days the winery remains in the capable hands of eldest son and winemaker Luke.
Unsurprisingly, the focus is premium Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, but they also have a keen interest in the potential of aromatic whites from both Coonawarra and Wrattonbully, and Riesling in particular. Reds are cellared for at least three years before release, ensuring that every wine is ready to drink. A limited quantity of museum stock is also available.
