Laurent Calmel and Jerome Joseph are pioneers of Languedoc-Roussillon and share a fervent desire to set it on an equal footing with the great wine regions of France. They work with vineyards across the breadth of the region, taking care to select the most expressive fruit, and managing the winemaking and maturation processes themselves.

Nowadays Calmel et Joseph has its own footprint, a stunning, organically farmed 200 hectare property on the outskirts of Carcassonne, with 20 hectares under vine. The size and sheltered nature of the property allows them to create a unique and sustainable ecosystem – they firmly believe in biodiversity and have complemented the vineyard sections with olive groves, lavender fields, almond orchards and beehives.
