Domaine Romy Beaujolais, France

Domaine Romy is a 30ha property located in the premium Beaujolais winegrowing area known as 'Les Pierres Dorées', named after the distinctive golden colour of the local limestone. These limestone/clay soils have more in common with Burgundy than with Beaujolais so it is no surprise that Pinot Noir grows exceptionally well here, as well as Gamay.

Romy are one of only a handful in the region whose fruit is sourced exclusively from their own estate, where a minimal intervention approach is adopted, both in the vineyard and in the winery. Their vineyards are certified Terra Vitis (an environmental certification based on principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility), and this is echoed in the winemaking, allowing them to create wines that are a true expression of the terroir.
